OUR MISSION
Make life as pleasant as possible for all seniors or handicapped persons. Volunteers do what they can to enable recipients to remain living in their home of choice.

What is Action Volunteers of Wabasha County?
We are an organization of volunteers dedicated to helping senior citizens and handicapped people remain living happy lives independently in their home. Our volunteers live in all areas of Wabasha County and serve people living in all of Wabasha County.

Do you want to be a volunteer?
If your answer is “Yes”, you can check into becoming a volunteer by calling 534-1244. Action Volunteers Board of Directors make a firm promise with each volunteer; they will “NEVER” ask volunteers to do more work then they have indicated they want to do.

We need more volunteers.
Volunteers are needed to transport senior citizens and handicapped people to doctor appointments. Volunteers will be reimbursed for each trip. Also, we can use a couple more volunteers to work in the office and use the computer and Internet.

What services to volunteers provide?

  1. Transportation for doctor appointments.

  2. Shopping: Local grocery shopping and pick up medications.

  3. Home chores such as clean house & cook meals.

  4. Minor home repairs such as repair windows.

  5. Respite care which means to relieve other care givers so they can take a break, go see a movie or visit friends.

  6. If Action Volunteers can not provide a service, theywill be happy to refer you to another provider.

Because all services are provided by volunteers, we can provide valuable services for 25%-30% of what it would cost other providers to provide the same service.

Action Volunteers is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization and depends heavily on financial donations to pay travel costs, rent, telephone, Internet, postage and for one part-time worker in the office. All donations are tax deductible according to law.
